Overview - Designated Learning Institutes

The Canadian government approves DLI or Designated Learning Institutes and provides multiple facilities to international students. The DLI colleges are essential to get a study permit in Canada. The list of DIL-approved Colleges in Canada is quite big; you should have known about these. The acceptance should be from the DLI Canada list only and it is a major requirement that students should be eligible to proceed the learning in Canada.

Assigned Learning Institution Number

Every post-auxiliary institution that accepts students from throughout the world is assigned a unique DLI number. Every grant application contains a DLI number that starts with the character “O”.

If you must travel to Canada as a foreign understudy, first ensure that your educational institution is included on the DIL Canada List (Designated learning institute). The schools and universities with limited space have different DLI numbers.

Non-DLI Schools

If a school is not designated as a DLI by its local or regional government, it is not eligible to accept students from around the world.

If you submit a review grant application for a school that is not part of the DLI Canada List, it will unfortunately be denied. You can remain enrolled at the institution until your review license expires in the unlikely event that it loses its DLI designation. If not, you can choose a different DLI option.

Primary and Secondary Schools

All schools whether it is primary or secondary have to be appeared in the DLI Canada List. As understudy graduates from optional school, they acknowledge their secondary school education.

Minor children who are below grade level do not require a review grant. If you are traveling to Canada with little children on a work or study grant, they will be able to attend classes.

Instructions to Change a Canadian DLI Number

An outside public applicant may alter their program of study, study establishment, and degree of study in Canada if they are considering the country for a valid report grant. Nevertheless, depending on the anticipated change, they might have to notify the appropriate migration authority, submit an application for a new review permit, or obtain an extension for their review license.

Moving to a School in Quebec

Compared to other Canadian provinces and regions, the province of Quebec has more control over the acceptance of international students. As a result, obtaining a review authorization for a foundation in Quebec requires a few more steps. It is mandatory to get a  certificatd' acceptation du Québec (CAQ) before applying for the review grant. The understudy gets permission after submitting a review grant application they receive from CAQ.

The CAQ requirement is going to affect the international students who want to get a transfer from outside of Quebec. The understudy is required to take CAQ from the Quebec government for an arrangement. There is typically no compelling need to apply for another review license once they have a CAQ. In any case, the understudy needs to update IRCC with their most recent data.

Changing a DLI: Step by Step
